Aunt Debby’s Desserts got its start in a small apartment in Rockville, Maryland in 2010. Due to a blizzard, Debby was stuck in her apartment for several days. As a kind gesture, she baked a chocolate chip banana bread for the plow crew. Since most of her baked goods were made for her 7 nieces and nephews, it was only appropriate that her 5-year-old niece (at the time), named the business Aunt Debby’s Desserts. The chocolate chip banana bread continues to be a family favorite.
Debby's baking and decorating skills have advanced over time. As well as her baking equipment. Her specialty is baking sugar cookies and decorating them uniquely for each event. Debby loves to bake for her family events and would be delighted to bring specialized cookies and treats to your next celebration.
In 2018 Debby moved into a house, with a large well-equipped kitchen. Aunt Debby’s Desserts developed into a little business. In 2024 Aunt Debby's kitchen was approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture for a Limited Food Establishment Registration. A representative from the Department of Agriculture inspected her home kitchen and completed a 60-point evaluation to assure all storage, processing and sanitation comply with the Bureau of Food Safety and Laboratory Services.
Starting in 2024 Aunt Debby has been volunteering her time, ingredients and baking skills to the The Ronald McDonald House® of Central Pennsylvania. The Ronald McDonald House® keeps families together by providing temporary housing to out-of-town families of seriously ill children who are being treated at Penn State Children’s Hospital. The generosity and kindness of volunteers and donors allows families to stay, free of charge. Please visit their website to find out how you can make a difference for these families.
